Well, spent a wasted morning with someone's granny, solicitor who has been retired for over 20 years. Said she had never seen any agreement like it and it was very open to interpretation however that was just my tough luck for being so silly in signing it. OK she did not use those words but might as well have done. :tinysmile_cry_t:

progessive finance was a trading name of part of the cattles group . Thewre was a legal name change a few years ago while I was working for them . 2008 I think.

DT I believe there is only one solicitor at my local CAB branch. Can't go to another one that does not deal with my local area. Just my luck.....

The lady I spoke to on Friday was so much more positive, but then she was not a solicitor but just worked at CAB.

I am completely reliant on you all! One positive remark the retired solicitor said today was she was very impressed with my knowledge and paper work! I guess at the end of the day they are all volunteers

Had a form from FOS yesterday, it gets a little complicated in that it would seem we will have to pursue the miss sell of PPI against Aviva/Direct Group.
Have gone through my documents which were sent with the SDAR and came across the name Black Horse as well should I mention that to the FOS?
Welcome seem in all sorts of trouble and ill try and threaten you, I know that but to date have not had anything from them or the "agents" since March/April this year and in February it will be four years since I paid them anything.:tinysmile_hmm_t2:

DT, tricky one! I would be inclined to tell the FOS. However in 18 months or so the debt could be statute barred - as you already know. Is the PPI refund quite a significant amount?

Would be if Welcome could "afford" it!
FOS said verbally it was to do with when either Direct Group or Norwich Union were licensed (all to do with pre 1995 I think)
CAB have encouraged me to try this avenue but has already said it would be unlike to get any actual refund as Welcome are in no position to do this.
For years they ripped us off with charges etc broke every "law" regarding payments and not listening when we were in a dire financial situation.

Just found out today that WF or any other company associated with them are not listed on my LR records. These companies have made so many mistakes in the passed that now these mistakes are coming back to haunt them. Wish I could give you some advice DT however as you know I'm no expert, I can only share my own experience with these muppets. I never had PPI with them.

well thats good then, they still have to "prove" any such loans and I know from experiance and other threads they had a habit of "re writing" loans so you had all the charges added and ppi on ppi. Again with all the charges.Form posted this morning, already been warned it will take a year or more, its taken nearly four now.But united we stand!:grouphug:
