LOL - I think that was our BlueBottle, wasn't it ? Once a copper, always a copper !!! :tung: B100dy clever guy - AND he has a sense of humour. I know, as I've tested it on a few occasions - I'm an ex-taxi driver !!! :car: :blah:

Yes,,it was bluebottle,,and I actually felt chastised !!! He made a good point tho,,and no malice aforethought but I did kinda wish I'd kept it quiet lol,,It was someone else that rattled my cage as their opinion of me was neither asked for nor needed !! But heyho,it's all good. I do laugh at some of the posts I read on here and as I'm on 'rest' time I need to keep amused

          Re: Hello

Well...cards on the table, then. I'm not sure if I've confessed this to BlueBottle, but I got 'done' for TWOC when I was a kid, and banned from riding my beloved Lambretta for 6 months. That was the only black mark on my record until I started driving taxi's 5 years ago - then I managed to get 'done' for speeding three times !!!

BB will be round to kick MY @$$, now, I'm sure !!! :tinysmile_cry_t:

It's easy to mis-read peeps in these forums, as we often don't see that faint smirk, or the glint in their eye as they type. Using smileys helps - but I try not to take anybody too seriously if I can help it - and I hope they will afford me the same in return !!!

            Re: Hello

My sin was speeding (95mph) 7 years ago although I didn't add the rest of the story which was I was on my way to a family members deathbed and ended up with the police who stopped me giving me an escort to the town AND I was in a new car and and and and and I can't think of any more excuses My Dad was a policeman, both military and civilian and he would have kicked my butt !! I have read some rather peculiar advice on here and seen someone take umbrage when they were pulled up on it,but that only serves to make me chuckle, after all, advice given doesn't have to be acted upon does it? I'm just mooching about at the moment as I'm 'resting' my blood pressure is too high so have been grounded so a little chuckle now and then does me good

              Re: Hello

Yeah, I seem to remember you saying they ended up escorting you, and I meant to ask. Although I have openly expressed my dislike of traffic cops - ever since a pair of them perjured themselves just to secure a speeding conviction (hocc...spit) - I guess it's true that it would be absolute mayhem out there if we all "did as we darned well pleasee."

And, bless 'em, there's nowt they like more than having a good reason to provide an escort - so you wangled that well, matey. When Mrs-K was about to give birth to our first daughter, the hospital sent her home with pain-killers. At stupid o'clock in the morning, we drove back in and her waters broke in the car. We got pulled by the fuzz, who were then delighted to give us a "blues and two's" escort the rest of the way.

In the same way that there IS such a thing as a nice Saffa (as Puff will attest), there is such a thing as a good copper. But sadly, as is the way with the world, the solid gold sovereigns seem to be outnumbered by the bent pennies. At this point, I need to acknowledge BB as one of the "Old Guard."

One of the perks of doing night shifts in the taxi was the cat fights. The guys just beat 7 shades out of each other, but the gals used their claws and ripped each other to shreds. We'd all turn up when the undies went flying !!! Likewise here - I've "waxed lyrical" after a wee drinkie and upset a few folk. Other folk are so passionate in their beliefs that they cannot tolerate discussion. I look at it this way - I came here to learn, and I learned from those who had gone down the path before me. I stayed, and I try to pass on what I have learned to those who follow. The more I learn, the more I realise I DON'T know.

I always thought I was a 'smart bird'.....soon realised quickly,,on here,,that I aint as worldly wise as I thunked I was ,,and I'm trying to get edumacted on the threads here,,I knew nothing of 'Bailiff law' nor any of the robbing theiving gits in this world. One day I hope to be able to help some poor sod who is fretting their nads off cos of debt...it's nothing to be ashamed of and noone should be bullied by debt collectors,,read some horrors of folks being scared to leave their houses for fear of being hounded by a moneythug !! it's not right or fair and thank gawd for this place giving them the power back..and I love a good debate,,and even though I'm never wrong :tung: (lol) I am often misguided in my opinion
