  • Skeleton Arguments as Litigant in Person.

I'm not sure how and what to say in my Skeleton Arguments. I already have most of it in the Court Summary and Chronology. Is it a case of repeating what has been said in those items?

In brief, the answer to your question is yes.

Your skeleton argument is an outline of your presentation of your case - the factual evidence, and your attempt to persuade the court what it means and why the court should decide the case in your favour. It's not just the what happened that you need to cover, but what it means in terms of your case and why you are asking the judge to rule in your favour.

I did once post a bit more about skeleton arguments - if I can find it I'll post a link.

Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
