  • PRA Group - Help!

Hello need help dealing with PRA Group.

I had 4 accounts with RBS (all taken out around 2008 ish) I'm pretty certain they were sold to some company (can't remember who) and then sold again to PRA Group.

I have quite a few mental health problems and have not worked for a number of years. I also have not paid anything to PRA Group (I have no memory of paying anything at all to them).

I definitely know I haven't paid anything to them for over 6 years
One of the accounts was statute barred a couple of months ago but the other 3 accounts have not.
Now I was unaware that if you write to them etc then the 6 year clock resets and they kinda pestered me into doing an expenditure form of some sort (stupid I know).. so I feel like im back at square one. I was totally unaware of anything to do with statute barred and I feel like they took advantage of this.

I explained I'm not working and there's hardly any chance of getting any money from me but like clock work every few weeks there is a phone call etc.
This is all really screwing with my head and my mental health is going crazy.

What options do I have to get them off my back?
I feel like I'm going crazy.. I can't sleep.. my brain just thinks and thinks about debt.. about people turning up at my door.. about court cases.. also the possibility of my benefits being taken away (thanks Rishi Sunak) not to mention all the health issues affecting my brain.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi KB123

    Welcome to LB

    Try not to worry.

What are the debts? i.e. Credit Card etc.

Depending on what they are, you could send them a CCA request, they have 12 days to provide a copy of your agreement, make sure you get Proof of Postage.

That should put a stop to their chase activity until they produce a copy of the agreements, the accounts are 'oldish' so may be 'unenforceable'. Even if they produce one, it might be non compliant. Check to make sure the prescribed terms are on the agreement. Check to see if the agreement has been 'varied'.
