Not sure where to post so starting here. I have had issues with my build which completed April 2021. I have had numerous problems and discussed with the builder, things have got to the point where I wanted to approach a solicitor. I wanted to get a report of all the issues.
I wanted to know whether i should go and get a RICS chartered surveyor or snag inspectors. RICS are more expensive but I think are looked at with more respect but I might be wrong. If it did go to legal proceedings would a RICS surveyor (2-3 times more) be worth it?
My feeling is both could do as good a job but you are less likely to dispute/challenge a RICS chartered surveyor and if it went to court this would hold more value. It may be the case that both are seen in the same light so I needn't worry about it.
