  • Indemnity Clause after Full and Final Settlement

Hello, I would be grateful for some advice.

I have received a full and final sum from the Executor of a will, but rather than just ask me to sign to say I have received the monies, there is an indemnity clause saying I will agree to indemnify the Executor against actions, claims and liabilities concerning the Estate and agree to execute to the Executor at my own expense a formal release under seal in respect of the said Estate and the administration thereo whenever called upon to do so.

could someone advise whether I should sign this?

    Thank you

If you have received the funds there is no need to sign anything!

It is there to protect the executor from any claim which might arise and for which he might be liable.
