  • Letter of claim, do I owe the debt?

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to help but I've received a letter of claim and I'm unsure whether or not I legally owe the debt. It's concerning a waste collection contract I took out; the company made only one collection in the sixth months I was paying them, for monthly collections. I spent those six months phoning and e-mailing trying to resolve the issue before talking to a solicitor who said they were in fundamental breach of contract. I ended the contract so that I could set up a new one with an alternative company as the waste was piling up which was unacceptable. I've sent the reply form back, asking for further information, which they provided yesterday. I guess I just need some clarity on whether mr ending the contract, on the basis that they weren't performing the only thing it was for, was legal and would be seen as reasonable if we end up in court. I'm obviously still hoping to avoid that if possible. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads and/or can help.

Apologies I've done this in the wrong order. This is my first post and now I'm doing a hello one as I'm new!

I'd reckon so... do you have a copy of the contract /service agreement ?*
