Just in process of separating, partner has 2 adult children (over 18) that live at home and we 2 have children together. She has never contributed to the mortgage or any household bills. The house is in my sole name and I also own other assets, including property. My partner has other assets including a property which she currently rents out. What are the implications on myself with regards to her purchasing a property for herself and the 4 children (2 from previous and 2 together). Her previous partner is detained at her majesty pleasure and therefore incapable of contributing for his children.

As she already owns her own property and you're not married, and the children are over 18, it's likely you won't be required to split your property or assets with her. I'd go and see a solicitor with all the facts and see what they say - they'll have to look at contributions - not necessarily financial - caring for your children, maintenance of house, length *of relationship, financial dependency etc.#staysafestayhome
