Lowell letter

I have received a letter from Lowell stating they have taken over a debt from British gas for £363.00 my married name, no address and stating dates from 2007 to 2015, I have never received any letter from British gas claiming I owe this money, also included was a letter from british gas stating this account is now closed but with no details on it? Not sure what to do, have had similar problem a few years ago with Lowell of which I ended up going to court to remove a default they put on my account which was not real, I won, but it cost me money so very of any dealings with them

Have you spoken with British Gas about this at all? Might be worth finding out what it is before you do anything with Lowell.
