  • C/C Graham White & Co / Roxbrough

Were do I start. I was in business, it closed down through no fault of mine, I was left with a debt to Amex, 1996 I received a letter from Graham White &Co West Byfleet Surrey,* basically asking for payment of the debt, financially I had other priorities mortagage ect. I was taken to County Court. And so after interest and Court charges were added the debt was nearly doubled, as I have very receintly* taken over our financial running I have wondered why there has never ben a statement issued from this company since 2002.So i then phoned Amex, there are no reports of trace of my account, next I run a trace on Graham White &Co also Roxborough, this is the result * ** Breaking News About Roxburghe UK Ltd

On the 5th February 2014 the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) issued, in a press release, that they would not be renewing the Consumer Credit Licence of Roxburghe UK Ltd. In addition, they have expelled Alasdair Turnbull, who represents and part-owns HFO Services, from the Law Society’s group licence. This is something which is totally without precedent and marks the extent to which Turnbull and Roxburghe UK Ltd have been found in breach of consumer laws.

Stop Press! Debt collector Roxburghe UK in Administration

Roxburgh UK, the debt collector and part of the HFO/Turnbull Rutherford group, latterly infamous for their parking ticket shenanigans, have been placed in administration. Read about it here.
Now I phoned our Bank as I am making payments to the debt collector's I am wondering if I should carry on paying as they have basically gone into Bankruptcy ?. *

      Hi Archie,

As there is a Judgment in place - do you know who the judgment holder actually is? Were Graham White & Co acting for HFO or for Roxburghe?

This won't be on the judgment register as it's well over 6 years. Any documents archived in the companies accounts ?

Roxburghe were dissolved following administration in Dec 2016.* Looks like Graham White & Co are in Administration now.

You've been paying under this CCJ for 24 years? Any idea how much you have actually paid and how much the judgment was for?

The debt originally was £4835.Then after charges were added amounted to £5145 that after Court £5179-82. I have made payment by paying at the Post Office. Then once I got some order by Bank Direct Debit. Problem now is who is collecting the Debt ?. As Amex have no knowledge, Graham White & Co and Roxbrough are now in liquidation. I know by the Sort Code payment is being made to Barclays Bank I also have the Account Number it is being made to, but Barclays cannot advise the account holder. *

Up date. Latter part of December I contacted our Bank, gained the sort code and A/C number,* eventually I was advised to cancel payments (Very nice helpful chap) I ignored advice as I do not wish to make myself a problem, plus its only a peppercorn amount I have to repay, there has been no action from the Financial ombudsman, so after digging around I have the sort code of the company receiving payments (Barclays Bank Hounslow branch, then transferred to Leicester branch) I phoned Barclays and was told ask your Bank to contact Barclays for the A/C holders name, advice was stop payment and see who contacts you, so our Bank has stopped payment, just a case of wait and see. **
