Hi I got caught shoplifting at the age of 11 and 14 in Tescos, the police took my name and address. I shoplifted due to poverty and we needed food - so I wasn’t taken to court of the station. But I want to be a doctor so will these incidents show up on a Enhanced DBS check? Now I’m 17 and will it affect uni applications?

If you weren't taken to ( or had to later attend) the police station with a parent or responsible adult present, didn't go to court, and weren't cautioned then nothing should show on your enhanced DBS check.*

Are you applying to medical school direct from sixth form/college ?

I’m wanting to volunteer at a hospital so would it not show up on the check, or should I disclose it?
