I received one yesterday saying we have money to claim from someone who passed away. His email was towesandpeterward@outlook.com is this real??

Probably not - there's a few reports of spam/scam emails from Peter Ward about the place. If it was a real solicitors firm they would not be emailing you from an outlook.com account. Well, tbh they wouldn't be emailing you.
Do they give you the name of the alleged deceased relative ?
Does the sender claim to work for Trowers & Hamlin or similar ?
It'd be useful for others if you can paste the full text of the email you received, then anyone else looking it up might come across the thread and take note.
