    Hi Petra,

Sorry to have missed your post xx Hopefully you've been able to have a read of other threads. If not have a mooch some other posts https://legalbeagles.info/forums/for...oss-prevention

If no no police were involved and the goods recovered then usually all you can look forward to is a civil recovery invoice from a private company ( which we usually say to ignore )

    Which retailer was it ?

No problem thank you!Yes I have red all posts which helped me a lot, thank you!i know I am idiot but I believe everyone deserves a second chance aren’t we?And I will hold on to it!
it was primark. To be honest security guard was really nice he took my details and said for today will send you home next time come to spend your own money!(no police involved items returned )
i wanted to ask as they have me on camera as a proof taking clothes into my back...could it still affect my future?
I am planning to get a mortgage is this going to effect my credit history?
Also if I am not able to pay the invoice charge penalty or actually don’t know what they call it does it mean I am not gonna be able to enter the place(of course after some time)
      thank you for your help!!

Primark usually ban you for a year xx

Its not going to affect your future or your credit file - The only way it would affect your credit file would be in the very unlikely circumstance that they make a court claim against you for the invoice and you didn't defend or pay it. We haven't seen a court claim since 2011 I think, when they lost the case.

I was caught shoplifting in Costco. To my utter horror. I am having what I can only describe as a mental breakdown. I was sent emails asking me to come in with upto date information.
Anyway when I had paid for my shop I was escorted into the office and shown cctv from April of me taking clothing. The total was £269 over 4 visits. The man said he didn’t want to involve the police and add to my misery !
So my membership card was taken and cancelled I paid for the items and told I was banned.
Can I expect further action ? Will they report me to the police ? I am a total wreak and I honestly can not even believe I did what I did. It’s like I wasn’t even thinking straight. I didn’t make any excuses I just paid for the items and left totally humiliated and ashamed.
Will the police be involved or would they have called them while I was in store.
            Thank you any advice appreciated
