  • Hotel stay

I have stayed at a hotel recently where the hot water tap was labelled as cold. As a result I hurt my hand. I then filled out an accident form with the hotel and have since been contacted advising an internal explanation has been carried out and they seem to be shifting the blame by suggesting a previous guest has done this. But I find that hard to believe

A previous guest swapped around the taps? Regardless It is the hotels responsibility to check rooms between guests.
Have they offered any form of discount or compensation?

They have offered a free upgrade at the next stay at this point. But they would not have offered anything if I had not asked. It seems that a free upgrade is worth around£10/20 does this seem like a fair offer?

Only you can say whether it's a fair offer.
