    Hi AD, welcome to LB
What is the issue, & where are you with it? (Court claim? Dispute? etc)

Hi Charity, thankyou for taking time to reply.
I was paying off an old bill in installments from 2014, I moved house since, I had already changed suppliers by then. In 2015 october, the payments stopped being taken from my account so I thought they'd finished. 2 years later, i find a default for £118 dated Oct 2015. I contacted them, they said it was their side that stopped thr payment, but were unsure why. But if I paid the money, they would discuss removing the default, but could not make any promises.

Is it BG, or someone else, that is chasing?
Is there a CCJ, or is it just defaults on a credit ref report?

            Ok
If it were me I'd SAR them for all data they hold pertaining to this.
I'd also contact my bank (SAR if necessary) to get written verification of who did what.
