  • Ah hello Balcony issues

    Hello all
have moved into a property and having had issues with the tenants who rent a flat across from our property. We have 3 young children and the tenant(s) are out quite alot sitting on their balcony taking illegal drugs, using foul language... the list goes on. The balcony and property itself completely over looks our entire garden clear view into bedroom and kitchen window etc.
wondering where the best place would be to get some advice on where we stand in relation to a permission which was granted to build and entrance to a flat, have found the planning permission online but does not state anywhere that a balcony would be included in the build. It's been there for some time (2012) so doubt much can be done but losing the will a little here. Any help with where would be best to post ?
    thanks *♀️

I'd suggest reporting the drug use to the Police might be a good start and the anti-social behaviour to the council.

I might be inclined if it were me to think about planting some trees or other barrier that might resolve the issue of overlooking the garden long term. Even if those residents move on, the problem of overlooking will persist.

      Thankyou for your response.
Having checked the planning documents it would seem that permission was granted for the balcony which acts as an entrance to the property on the condition that a glazed partition was erected around the balcony and stairway which has not occured.
now looking at who would be the best person to contact in regards to this as it would appear to be against the plans drawn up etc

        The local council planning officer.
