  • Credit card debt after CCJ has fallen off my credit report

A credit card that was opened in 1990 , fell into default in 2010, received a CCJ that fell off my credit report in 2017. I am now being chased by someone who has bought the debt - please can someone guide as to what is the best way forward. many thanks

As a CCJ it won't go statute barred but if they haven't tried to enforce before 6 years they will need permission of the court - are you wanting to try get it settled off ?

Thanks and apologies I'd missed the CCJ part ... I've amended my post xxx That May 11 payment was that after the ccj was obtained?

yes it was. I am unsure of where I stand so not sure what my next steps are? As I wasn't sure due to the 6 years if I should make contact with them

It isn't the judgment holder that's contacting you is it ? so unless they have made specific enforcement threats I would ignore.

The letter says it is informing me of its intention to issue proceedings in the County Court
