Sure, here are more details: I had a student overdraft taken in 2000, had to defer my year due to lack of funding (international student) tried to get funding etc, but in the end I went back to home country in 2001 as I couldn't make it work. Overdraft increased stupidly BUT once I got a job end of 2001, I took a loan in home country and paid it off in one go in 2002, or at least I remember asking for a reduction in interest rates, but cannot remember if this was agreed and I paid the whole thing, or I paid the original sum and a reduction in interest rates, I just cannot remember if the account was closed... According to my family, I have paid it all, some have better memory it seem.. .but...I am now getting worried as there is a possibility I may need to move to the UK in the future. I now live somewhere else and have done for the past decade, but my post is and has been monitored and there has been no communication from the Bank in years. No DCA, obviously no idea about CCJ or anything like that? My question is: should I try and find out whether this was settled, the full amount I mean? or would this be statue barred? Can they still issue a CCJ if I move eventually? Just any thoughts would be appreciated as this has been really stressing me out.
