  • Real or fake claim

I have received a Judgment for Claimant from County Court Businesa centre. The stamp just has a crown and The County Court. It's for a parking ticket. I don't believe it's real. Can someone please advise.

post up a picture of the document with identifying details blanked so we can see.

court forms are pretty nondescript looking anyway

        Genuine!

Any particular reason for not replying to the claim?

Read posts to say that it's fake. Don't know what to believe. I have ignored it until now. I wasnt the one driving at the time.

So you have 30 days in which to pay to avoid having the CCJ registered against you for the next 6 years.
Court papers should never be ignored...who gave you that advice?

Perhaps the driver who caused the parking incident will contribute, as on the face of it you may not have reason to apply for setaside

MSE website says they haven't proven who the driver was, I'm just the registered keeper.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think the document is fake?

Presumably you were contacted by the parking company, then they would have instructed Gladstones to send you a letter or two, including a letter before claim which would have had language to the effect that if you don't pay up then legal proceedings would be issued.

If you ignored all of the above and then received the initial claim form that contained the details of the parking co. along with Gladstones and also a claim number, surely you must have had an inkling that the document might actually be legitimate. At the very least you could have carried out some diligence and found the claim form to be real.

I find it amazing that in this day and age with the power of the internet, Google and other technologies, people still believe that a court document is fake and then sit there doing nothing to verify if it is or not. All it takes is a simple Google search on 'County Court Business Centre' and you'll find that the court exists and if you called them, you'd find that the claim is actually real.

I'm fairly certain (but happy to be corrected) that MSE doesn't just say that and will have more of an explanation as well as information on what to do when you receive a court claim. They don't need to prove you were driving the vehicle, especially if the parking co. complied with POFA, even more so given that you didn't respond to the claim at all. Therefore the assumption is you are liable.

Millenium Door and Event Security ? Ahhhh Millenium Group ( Millennium Group is trading name of Millennium Door. Event Security Ltd. ) - as you were ! ( Yes it's real, pay within a month of the judgment to avoid it being on your credit file for 6 years, or apply to set it aside - costs £255 and you need a good reason why you didn't respond to the original claim)
