  • Hello, new user and CCA advice.

    Good afternoon,
I have been directed here from Sara at the Debt Camel website, I am currently in the process of "hopefully" reducing/eliminating the debt I have by means of partial settlement offers.
i have requested CCA's from all my nine creditors, some of which have provided reconstituted agreements and one specifically (PRA Group, on behalf of Barclaycard) has asked me to contact them so that one of their agents can come to a "mutually agreeable way of settling the debt".
I have been advised to come here and get an opinion on the CCA's before speaking to them.
My agreements are from 2009/2012 and I am still awaiting 7 responses.
I have been in a DMP for 5 years, with another 4 ish, to go.

I would be grateful of any advice/guidance etc that anyone can give.

    many thanks

    Tony.

Hi Tony, and Welcome to the forum.

SO you've sent off CCA requests to all of the companies that own the debts currently being managed under your DMP, with a view to making partial settlements in full & final so that you can bring your DMP to an end ( hopefully) Are you intending to leave the DMP in place for those that have provided agreements, and use the lack of response to try and negotiate a lower settlement figure ? or try for partial settlements on everything ? ( ie. have you come into some funds to use to settle off the debts ?)

As the debts are post 2007 then a reconstruction is normally going to be fine unless there are any other issues.

Have PRA sent a copy of the agreement or just asked you to call them?

Who is the DMP with ?

      Hi Amethyst,

Many thanks for your response, my aim is to try and request partial settlements on everything, a late relative of mine has left me a little which will go some way to reducing this debt.

PRA have sent a copy of the agreement and asked me to call them.

      The DMP is with Stepchange.

(I am now going to add the Legal Beagles email to my address, preventing responses going into spam, so I should come back quicker moving forward)

      Kind regards

      Tony
