Hi there. Its a very long story but I won't go into all the detail as this would become an epistle. Basically I bought solar panels to reduce my electricity bills as I can't put gas pipes in due to a Deed of Easement required which the people I share a road with won't cooperate with. I thought the easiest way forward would be to install solar panels and just use electricity. Well I have a 3 story semi and my bills are £250-£350 a week. Consider I am supposed to be using solar panels so this bill appears to be hugely over what it should be. I have contacted the electricity supplier and provided all the governance re paper work on the solar panels to ensure that they existed and were installed appropriately. Well the company that installed the solar panels has gone bust so no help there and the smart meters that have been installed just clock up costs on a minute to minute basis. I can't find anyone to help me as other solar panels say that hey didn't install them so its not their problem. The electricity company are no help at all but I believe the smart meter is not working with the solar panels so I am putting electricity back into the grid but am not receiving any deductions off the smart meter. Any ideas on how I can take this forward? To top it all I am being chased by Opus as I changed electricity suppliers to Spark Energy who are now billing me for £254 although I pay by direct debit. I feel like I am drowning in this problem and can't find a way out apart from paying massive electricity bills and the solar panels were a complete waste of time.

Your electric bill is £250-£350 a WEEK ?
What were your bills before you installed the solar panels ?
Have you tried turning everything off other than the solar panels to see what your smart meter does ?#staysafestayhome

If your bills pre Solar panel and smart meter installation were £60 a month, then I'd say it's definately related.
Make a formal complaint to the electric company, if you already have, then get in touch with the ombudsman https://www.ombudsman-services.org/sectors/energy#staysafestayhome
