  • Contact with sister??

I would like to know if I am allowed to contact my sister direct (regarding a dispute) despite her solicitor insisting I communicate only through him. I have been served papers recently. I have no legal representation as yet.

Your sisters solicitor is acting on your sisters instruction so therefore you should abide by her wishes and communicate via her solicitor.

Do you want to talk a a bit about the case you are having to deal with see if we can give you a hand while you try sort out legal rep. Remember that anything you do send to her solicitor, or her, may well be seen by a Judge in court so always write anything with that in mind.

Any support I provide is offered without liability, if you are unsure please seek professional legal guidance.

Thank you for this, I was thinking more as a legal point. We have contacted a direct access barrister who we may appoint. I wish to send my sister a direct email asking her a question. Am I legally required to go through her solicitor for all contact with her?
