  • Final warning for council tax (for a flat of 3 students)

Full time students dont have to pay council tax however i have a final warning stating that i have to pay almost £1500, i have tried calling them but its always a robot talking. How best can i settle this without paying?
    Thanks

You need to apply for an exemption

Amethyst Was i meant to do it before I moved in? My flatmate called the council only for them to say that we still have to pay. But surely if we can show them proof that we were all full time students at the time that we were living there, why should we still be demanded to pay?

You need to persevere in talking to your council about it or pop in the council contact centre to discuss the situation. If all three of you qualify for exemption then you should get a revised bill.
