  • VT back in 2011 but still showing on Credit File

Hello, I wonder if someone can help me please. I VT'd my vehicle back in 2011 when I lost my job and had an outstanding balance owing of about 6k. The terms were 48 x monthly payments of £444 I came to an arrangement paying back £35 per month which I have adhered to ever since. However AUDI financial are reporting on my credit file that I am missing payments of £444 every month since. Surely as it was defaulted in 2011 it now should not be showing on my credit file. I have called them and they are saying it is marking my file correctly? If that is the case I would of been better defaulting completely and it would not be showing now. Could someone please explain this to me so I can try and rectify it please?

    Hiya,

Can you just tell us when you took out the finance, and how many months you'd paid when you gave the car back ? and any deposit you'd paid.

Did you definately VT ( voluntary terminate ) or was the car repossessed or surrendered ?

Had you paid over 50% at that point or is the £6k shortfall the amount needed to take you to the 50% ?

We need to work out what the actual situation is with the debt to know whether you can do anything on your credit file.

If you have the agreement that'd be good.

The arrangement may not have defaulted because you entered into an arrangement, but you may be able to argue that it should have been defaulted - but then you might be able to argue it should never have been entered in any case, if it was VT'd correctly.

      Hi Sharon

Thank you, Yes it was defiantly VT'd and the 6k was to make up the 50% shortfall. I dont still have the agreement unfortunately but it was 48 x monthly payments of £444 starting in 2010, I think I made about just over a year of payments. This is now stopping my mortgage going through as its sitting on my file still, so any advice would be really appreciated thank you
