I am a new member saying 'hello'. My problem is I have today received a letter from M&S, with whom I have been paying off a credit card debt monthly and they have suddenly said that I have not managed my account within the t's &c's of my credit agreement and this letter I have received is from recoveries.

They said they have withdrawn my credit facility as of the date of this letter (17.8.2018). They said to ensure all cards associated with this account are destroyed securely and any standing orders are cancelled (who has standing orders anyway?).

I called the number given to find out what the problem is, but the young man on the end of the phone got flustered and did not know what to say, so he said he would put me through to another department which was closed. I have a balance of £5,771.03 available to spend (but I have never spent anything since the first credit and I am just slowly paying it off). I want to write to these people as obviously phone calls go nowhere, and I would appreciate a bit of help as to what to say please. I do feel rather insulted and have not had any other letters to say that this debt needed to go to recoveries. Thank you.

Have they given no information as to what term of the credit agreement terms you are said to have breached ?
Have you managed to speak to the right department this morning ?
