  • Unfair ccj registered through car insurence

    Morning

    My case is as follows and I want compensation from the solicitors, please advise;

    I was planning buying a house with my partner a few months ago, my credit is quite good so I had no worries that I would pass. All of a sudden we started to get declined for all of our mortgage applications. After some digging & to my horror I found a CCJ registered against me from the previous month. I was in total shock and didn't understand as I couldn't even think why and hadn't been informed. I was given a number from my experian expert and called them, it was a debt collecting agency that were rude and told me to contact my solicitor. My response was I don't have a solicitor? They said Slaytor Gordon Solutions, at that point the penny dropped! Around 2 years ago I had a car accident and they were my solicitor through Endsleigh car insurance, the claim went 50/50 I was paid my half but to my horror the other side weren't paid by my side. I was totally unaware of this and assumed this would have just been dealt with. I spent the next few days following this calling everyone I could to remove the CCJ from my report, Slaytor Gordon Solutions were extremely unhelpful and would'nt write me a letter to say it was there fault until the dept had been paid by my car insurance. I somehow managed to get the CCJ removed just on time for the last chance to get my mortgage for the house. I managed to get the mortgage, however, without my determination to remove it I would have lost my house - please advise? I have 3 letters; 1 from Slator, 1 from Endsleigh & 1 from Registry Trust to prove my case.

    Regards
    Hannah

    First thing to do is remove all identifying details from those attachments.

    Well done in getting it sorted, but I doubt there is any mileage in trying to obtain compensation from anybody over this.
