Asda are never going to try court, even if DWF were to recommend it.
you were caught shoplifting an item worth £10. If it wasn't recovered in a saleable condition they could only claim its net cost to them.
Security costs are part of their overheads and they can't charge you for those as they would have been incurred regardless.

It is going to cost them more to take you to court than they could possibly recover as costs claimable on the small claims track are very limited.
    It just will not happen

Imagine the adverse publicity.. "Pregnant 18 year old, hormones all over the place taken to court by ASDA over £10"
    I think not !!

    Just keep ignoring

I don't post here often but felt I just had to in this case.

PLEASE JUST IGNORE all of the letters as they really will not do anything apart from threaten you with "possible" actions that "may" result in this that or the other. Rest assured none of that will happen. There will be no effect upon your university application or credit rating.

Just relax and plan for your future in the knowledge that you will have your son and an education - good luck!

They can't come to the house to remove goods! The matter has not been to court (and will not) and it is only court enforcement officers can do that after you have lost the court case, the court case that will not happen.

I think 6 months is the usual time and then they give up, though it may bounce round other debt colectors, who also can't do anything.

Don't like criticising other parents but I would have hoped for more support.
Mothers to be often suffer hormonal inbalances and act out of character and it will make you a more understanding and tolerant person. and so to that extent a better mother.
I suppose your mother has never transgressed in any way at all.....................
Concentrate on keeping yourself well, and try not to stress out over this blip.
If you need more reassurance you are welcomed to come back here.
              Good luck with your pregnancy
