HI I have recently applied for credit and to my dismay got refused, so I signed up to a credit search company to find out I was issued with a CCJ back in Jan 2017, I have had no letter about this back then nor have I received any further contact from the date stated. the worst part of this is that have had no credit for over 10 years so really unsure where this has come from. the company issuing the CCJ is a business center in Northhampton but not getting any replies. im looking for some guidance and advice please. thanks

The Northampton County Court Business Centre is the main processing centre for moneyclaims. Does the register or your credit file not state who the judgment holder is ? How much approx. is it for ?

The helpline at Northampton CCBC is extremely undermanned so I'm afraid it's a case of calling during working hours and waiting on hold - you need to ask them to send you a copy of the claim, the judgment and the set aside application forms. Otherwise ask for details of the claimant so you can contact them directly and ask for the same.

You can then apply to set aside the CCJ - it may be parking ticket or a really old debt that would be statute barred - but you have to find out what it is in order to apply to set aside.
