  • DCA advice please

hello, I have read countless threads on DCA’s and how to get sorted regarding old debts however I am not quite sure which steps to take regarding my situation.

I had an unsecured loan in 2008 which defaulted in around 2010, is now off my credit file. I have been paying the DCA since approximately 2015 (in hindsight I should have not paid and it would be statute barred by now). My query is that they have recently sent me a full and final letter on three occasions offering to settle for 30% of the original balance. I then sent a letter back offering 50% of their offer which was refused. I have never sent a CCA request (I am confused with the pre/post 2007 stance but I know they are about the 10th DCA that the debt was sold to) and I am unsure if I should pay them the full settlement, or if there is any point paying that much at all considering it is off my file anyway. Many thanks in advance

CCA Request send this request with £1.00 postal order to the owners of the alledged debt, do not rush into anything yet, the peeps will advise as you go along but need facts before advice, but send to-day Recorded Delivery and keep copy attached to request letter on file

As the debt is after 2007 is there any point sending cca request as they can just ultimately reconstitute one? Sorry I really have limited knowledge at this point. Thanks

Ok just don’t want to rock the boat as this is no longer on my file and I would be afraid they may sell it on/go for a ccj

Still no reply for cca request. They have also refused my previous offer of £1k to fully settle the account. The lowest they will go is 30%.
