  • UNFAIR £85.00 fine!

Went to shopping centre yesterday. Private car park. Parked our 7.1 metre van up in the very small bays. ( dont usually take motorhome, just picked up from MOT ) on our return found notice on windscreen. I have appealed on the grounds they do not state we cant park there and then penalise us for doing so? We were very considerate, no obstruction was made. Would appreciate any advice on offer please. Regards L

Do you have an address or pictures of the car park ?

I'd guess there may be 'park within marked bays' type signs they'll be relying on ? What is the reason given on the notice?

yea ... pics of the signs would be good (they may try saying that motorhomes are not meant to be parked there too) and maybe a redacted pic of the ticket?

It all depends on the signs. Perhaps a photo of the signs and the original PCN that was issued. And it's not a fine !!!! It's an invoice for an alleged breach of contract. What the location? Perhaps a link to Google street view would help

It states on ticket “ NOT PARKED WHOLLY IN BAY” . As previously said there were no bays we could have fitted in so had to straddle bays.

It IS a ticket for breach of contract. Will await to see what appeal has to say. I still believe there should be a sign BEFORE you enter car park forbidding motorhomes if they are going to fine you.

The location was WESTON FAVELL SHOPPING CENTRE IN KINGSTHORPE NORTHAMPTON. Thank you for replies, all I can do is sit and wait to see if appeal goes through.....have to say under no illusions of a positive outcome!

Looks like you're not the only ones having problems! Unfortunately I can't quite read the small print on the sign. I presume you were parking in the manner of that GSV link. So you were wholly within the bays but you required 2 of them.

If you were a customer have you complained to the shops?

There's a height restriction sign on the entrance but nothing saying NO Vans/campers/ hgvs etc

also can't read sign but doesn't look like it says no big vehicles AF66C451-9F9B-45E6-9415-2582F7C86BF5.png
