    we are returning car on hp as have paid half finance co saying that the gap insurance i must pay 482 is this correct

    Do you have a copy of your agreement to hand you could redact of your details and post up ?

    I believe GAP insurance is refunded for the period you're not covered ( ie after VT'ing)

      Yes i have agreement they happy to accept voluntary termination but said the finance side of gap was seperate and i must pay whats keft within 30 days of car beng returned i could pay it up but will affect credit rating wanting an income expenses form filled in also want 75.00 for collecting although nothng on agreement about that want me to sign some pack but will just send letter by recorded delivery terminatng agreement

        The finance side of GAP is separate.
        Generally insurers will refund premium on a pro rata basis (although some will use short term rates), but the finance company then charge an administration fee.
        Without knowing what you paid, the time scales involved, the T&Cs of both insurance and finance and the companies involved it is not possible to comment on the figure you are being asked to pay.
