  • Notice of default sums served under section 86(E)

    I have been sent a notice of default sums served under section 86(E) by Amex for late payment. It a charge of £12. My question is will AmEx report this to my credit file ??(Experian etc)

    You may get a late payment marker on your credit file but depends how late you are ( if you miss the months payment then you'll get a 1 marker ) so if you bring the account back up to date then it shouldn't really affect you. It doesn't mean the account has defaulted it is simply a notice they have to send you if they charge you any late payment fees. For ref 86(e) is https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga...39/section/86E
