Hi there

Back in the 80's I took out a commercial mortgage on a business premises. This was an endowment mortgage with Barclays. I sold the premises around 2003 and repaid the remainder of the mortgage. Is there any way to reclaim the mis selling of the endowment mortgage as at that time this was the only option offered to me? Thanks, Mc

That's what I thought ie the normal consumer protections don't apply.

Thank you for your input. Do you think this is the end of the line with this? I faltered with the repayments on this and I know they had broad terms attached to it including a charge on my house at the time. I had to sell part of the building to service the mortgage debt. It was a row of three shops in a derelict area that I had mortgaged. I eventually had to sell the second unit again to service the mortgage. I soldiered on after that and as part of the area was due for demolition I decided to sell in 2003 as trade was really poor.
