  • Home Bank

    Hi.

Does anyone know of a brokers or intermediaries called HomeBank who operated in the early 2000's.

We were introduced to Northern Rock by a representative of Home Bank around 2002 who offered a product tied to the mortgage that allowed drawdown of funds against the mortgage as a percentage each year taking it from the equity. He also offered us income protection which I'm trying to remember if we took the insurance or not.

I'd be interested to know if they are still operating and where they are.

I found information at this link: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/04447814

I don't know if it's the same company we dealt with.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Looks as if they are deceased!

      Re: Home Bank

I don't think so as they changed their name to HomeBank from SELEXCO LIMITED in Sept 2017.

Could be one of these - ( although looking at the FCA register they seem to be pretty much the same people ) Dissolved in 2015 and 2011 respectively.

Willow were called Homebank Mortgage ( Brokers ) Plc until 2003 so likely it was they.

      • MORTGAGE PRO UK LIMITED

        Matching previous names:
        HOMEBANK FINANCIAL SERVICES
        05933688 - Dissolved on 13 August 2015
105-111 Basement, Euston Street, London, England, NW1 2EW

      • That aside have you tried sending a Subject Access Request to whoever has your mortgage now if it is still running ? They should have all your paperwork from application onwards.

You're looking to reclaim PPI I presume?

( crossed posts with Des - but what he said ... lol )

        Re: Home Bank

        Hi All and thanks.

Yes I've sent off SAR last week.

PPI may be an option since there is reference to this in our own records.

Due to a couple loans of under £25k and a re-mortgage we have gone from an original loan of £68k in 1999 to currently owing about £136k. Much of this racked up in fees and interest, not forgetting PPI.

We have read on the internet of people claiming for mis-sold loans, mortgages from Northern Rock and a few have been successful.

Over this period we had to take out the loans and re-mortgages due to redundancies and hard times and we were vulnerable at the time.

We feel that we were badly advised by Northern Rock staff and we have a big mess to unravel.

Do all the mortgage clients of Northern Rock have a class action claim against the government when you read this link? https://www.moneymarketing.co.uk/gov...mortgage-sale/

We had loans and together loan all under £25k with Northern Rock so do we have any case against them or is any claim only viable over £25k?

                Kind regards

                  Re: Home Bank

Have you heard from NRAM at all over the last few years re the loans ?
We wrote to all customers affected by this extended review between April and June 2015. Click here for more details.
We wrote to affected NRAM customers following the 2012 review, providing specific details about the impact on their loan account which may have included the amount of redress, revised monthly payments and revised term end date if applicable. We have also written to customers affected by the 2014 review.
If you hold more than one loan with NRAM, you will have been sent a specific letter for each loan affected by these issues.
Please note - if you hold an unsecured personal loan with a 16 digit account number, we can confirm you were NOT affected by these issues. Our review determined that the communications sent to you during the term of these loans followed the exact format prescribed by the CCA.
                  and so on...
                  http://www.n-ram.co.uk/loans/cca-loans
It's not about the possible misselling though, that would be a separate issue.

We (Joanna Connolly Solicitors) are also 'in the know' when it comes to Northern Rock unsecured (and secured) loans.

There isn't a generic answer to your question because each loan situation is different. You may need bespoke help with your issue.

Do you currently have a loan with NRAM (£136k?) and if so is it now with Landmark Mortgages or Whistletree or still managed by NRAM?

Or have you cleared/redeemed your previous loan(s) perhaps by consolidating them into any current loan and are looking for hindsight/retrospective compensation for any potential misdemeanours with the historical loans possibly replaced by the current one?

An obvious question is have you suffered from any legal proceedings such as repossession in relation to these loans along the way?
