Restructure of the Site

As you will have read from what you have seen around the site recently we have decided to implement working groups for the legal, advice and campaign areas of the site. Team Members retain responsibility for moderation and site issues.

As a result of this we have decided that the time is right to restructure the team.

The team now consists of;

All other team members are now part of the working groups and are VIP members of the site. We thank them for their contributions in Team and hope this will continue through the working groups.

The timing of the restructuring seems rather sudden, considering that just over 24 hours ago I was assured that my change of status resulted from a glitch.

We have been thinking about a restructure for a while, but events over the last few days have enabled the admin team to have a proper discussion and decide to implement a full restructure.

Your alteration of status yesterday was a consequence of the fact that we are in the middle of a server switch and a VBulletin upgrade. Quite a few people have experienced problems and we apologise for this.

Like the reorganisation, because it seems more streamlined. Considering usership is 1000, I was starting to wonder if everyone was going to become a team member at some stage. What exactly do working groups do? I know I am part of the VIP working group thingy. I like the changes and still getting used to my friend "DATABASE ERROR" surprised no one had thought of that username. Will those glitches be ironed out soon?

The server glitches will be sorted out on Tuesday - the server move had to be put off cause of a forum problem with the software upgrade and we weren't able to get both done in the one night.

Tools is away till Tuesday so we will spend Tuesday night moving over to the new server - which is dedicated and has loadddddds of space. At the moment we're on a shared cluster server. I'm not a techi although I try.


Regarding working groups - basically its like an extended team, without the moderating stuff. We just would like as much input as possible into campaigns and working on letters and POCs etc. We're not a huge site and we would like as many people who wish to be involved in the legal and campaign side of things to be able to be, without having to worry about site and user issues. So bascially at the moment its a group of people who are very passionate about the issues and want to be more involved in taking things forward.
