So theres some clash with IE and PHP .... there is a known issue with the latest php version which I'm trying to find a fix for.
On my Win 8 with IE I see black x's instead of the thumbnails and if I click them it opens the image in a new window under ' C:\Users\Sharon\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\IN etCache\IE\42QJ3FPN\attachment (16).php ' so presumably puts it to a temp file on my tablet.
On my PC with Win 7 and IE it either won't open or opens a windows media viewer.
It does only seem to be attached images because they are stored in the php database. I am considering switching them to the file system but want to speak with our server peeps first as theres posts vulnerabilities in doing that.
On FF it works fine.
So for the moment I'd recommend using external image hosting or firefox.
