    Re: Colour

I can only run IE8 on XP in a VM, but can confirm I see the same.

In IE8 on XP in new window.

Oddly though, if I restore down and then re-maximise the IE8 window then it all sorts itself out and displays normally.

Same after restore and maximise of that window.

Don't see the same on that 4.2.1 board though... As far as I can test anyway.

Thanks for that Nibbler - which site did you use to check it on? I tried one which promised screenshots of the webpage in various browsers/operating sys but it wanted me to download the results....so I didn't.

        Re: Colour

Didn't use a site. I just ran XP in virtualbox.

Using one of the XP images available here: http://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualiz...ools#downloads

Bit OTT, but already had it downloaded anyway, so could fire it up very quickly.

Other tools on that site to grab automated screenshots on a variety of browsers, but the virtual machine seems to be the only one that will do something as old as IE8 on XP.

                Re: Colour

On that subject, I have to use IE on my MS tablet because I can't get FF. Plus lots of other people prefer IE. So I have managed to fix attachment images in IE, as far as possible.

Attachments in uploaded JPG or PNG should be under 800 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high.

By way of example the below attachments are uploaded to this post.

1 jpg.gif 700wide1000high.jpg (103.2 KB) - should show thumbnail and open in new window
2 png.gif 700wide1000high.png (536.9 KB) - should show thumbnail and open in new window

lol, yes. Still of a bit of a weirdness with PNG's uploading as JPG's but they view ok so am not too fussed.

The previous one was perfect. Why change just for the sake of it? If if ain't broken...

Presumably you're not talking about fixing the attachments viewing in IE then (which btw has been ongoing for quite a while and is nothing to do with the site design)

Even though it was tweaked a bit, it still looked like a Ł1million +1 other vBulletin based sites, being close to the default theme.

And believe me, if you have enough to do with it you get thoroughly sick of it. And of course you eventually get the "what site am I on?" fatigue if they all look the same....

I wasn't. The new colour is too bright and log in field doesn't work properly on my android phone.

I thought it was too bright at first. Seems you do get used to it. I have anyway.

What Android browser are you having trouble with?
