Cannot find a place to ask a simple question I think

If I reply to a thread I seem to automatically subscribe to it, can i avoid it or do I just have to not post on the thread that I may want to post on?

Simple terms, anyway to get rid of autosubscribing to a thread?

Options


Thread Subscription Mode When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.

choices in drop down box are;

Do not subscribe
No email notification
Instant email notification
Daily email notification
Weekly email notification

Go Into User CP
The select Edit Options on the left menu
A screen appears with the top box marked Login & Privacy
The box below is marked Messaging & Notification

There is then a section as picture

Click "User CP", then on the left hand side, under "Settings & Options" click "Edit Options." Second box down is called "Messaging & Notification." In the box titled "Default Thread Subscription Mode" select "Do not subscribe" from the drop down menu.
