missing dog

Looking for any advice on what further steps we may be able to take to recover our missing saluki (the cream in my avatar)

Last Tuesday let the pair into the garden at 8.15am, but by 9.00am they had both gone, having cleared an 8 foot fence.
The red boy came back about an hour later, but we haven't seen the cream since.
Have put up posters, informed local dog warden, vets, kennels, inserted ads in newspapers.
Face book has come out in a rash of postings, and shareds (courtesy of my children and tesco community page!)

Very concerned on a number of fronts;
1. his welfare as he will be frightened, cold, wet, miserable (if he has not been picked up)
2. If he has been picked up if it's by the travelling community he'll be very valuable to them as a stud
3. if he is wandering loose, it is the lambing season. (we have warned local farmers but by now he could be miles away)
4. his brother is pining (and so are we!)

Any suggestions on what else we can do appreciated

Will do

We are dog lovers ourselves and know what it would feel like if our Waggytails went missing!

Chin up love, we will find him, I know it!

Ashar is now officially on Instagram

Truth be told I forgot I had it! Oh the pleasures of a insistent publisher!!

I knew it would come in handy one day!! The saluki fancier page (or whatever you call it) has shared him too

Thanks Teegee.
His brother is thankfully now beginning to perk up.
It might sound odd to those without animals, but until recently he was exhibiting all the signs of depression.
In the first few weeks he would take his toys and drop them on his brothers bed, and then go and look out the window to the paddock where they used to run & play.
Up till now he hasn't gone out there, and has been "satisfied" with just road work on a lead..... not typical saluki behaviour, but we are hoping he will continue to improve.
We will possibly buy a companion for him next spring.

OK Update:

I can now confirm that Ashar's profile has been shared 30 times on twitter (to my knowledge), he has been acknowledged by Lost.com, Helpfindme and Vetscan (all twitter pages to locate missing animals) and has also been shared by Dog's Trust ROI.

I have also shared him on my author page (I have 2 twitters- one for me one for my books) and my author page on FB.

My brother in the ROI has a few travellers working on his farm so he will pass the info on too, as he says if you can get in to the clique they will help you.

No promises love, but we are trying our utmost!

Thanks for the suggestion, but daughter has tried in the past to get on hare coursing sites, but without any luck.
As we don't actually course our dogs (its illegal on hares but not rabbits) it seems we are unwelcome .

Thanks for the hint.
He already has his own FB page "Help find Ashar", and that is reshared frequently by various helpers. but any further assistance is always gratefully recceived.

OH spoke to plod again today (different officer) who apologised for her colleague giving "incorrect advice" and reassuringly said that altho' the case was dormant they will act on any new info which is received. (Whether they will or not is another matter).
