    Christmas is rapidly approaching and time is running out to send letters, presents or holiday cards to friends and relatives living overseas.

    Here is a handy list of postal deadlines to ensure your package arrives before December 25.

    Friday, December 4 – Africa and the Middle East.

    Monday, December 7 – Asia, Cyprus, Far East and Eastern Europe – excluding Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
    Tuesday, December 8 – Caribbean, Central America and South America.
    Thursday, December 10 – Australia, New Zealand and Greece.
    Monday, December 14 – Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Poland.
    Tuesday, December 15 – Canada, Finland, Sweden and the USA.
    Wednesday, December 16 – Austria, Iceland, Ireland, Portugal and Spain.
    Thursday, December 17 – France.
    Friday, December 18 – Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia and Switzerland.

    International British Forces Post Office (BFPO)
    Friday, December 11 – Static BFPOs.

    UK mail:
    Saturday, December 19 – 2nd class post and Royal Mail signed for 2nd class post.
    Monday, December 21 – 1st class post and Royal Mail signed for 1st class post.
    Wednesday, December 23 – Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed post.

        will be glad when its been and gone when I was a kid Christmas started on the 24th December not middle of September its no longer a special occasion but pure money .
        Our grandkids get pressies all year round so this is just another day of gifts for the adults its a big feed and crap tele and for some the relatives from hell with presents no one needs .

        My uncle Ebenezer would turn in his grave if he knew how things have become

          It's my little girls 2nd birthday on Christmas day

              My nephew is Christmas day too and I always get a birthday and a Christmas present for him so unfair not to imho.

                  Also have a grand daughter with Christmas Day birthday.
                  Christmas a.m. Birthday p.m. and another birthday in June so she can have party with her friends.

                  With 17 grand children I'm beginning to reconsider my attitude to Christmas !!!!!!!!

                        Remember…..

                        It doesn’t take much time to be a good neighbour - just to check someone is safe, warm and well.
                        Knock on the door and ask if they are ok, are they warm and well? Have they got essential supplies like bread and milk?
                        Or pick up the phone, call them and ask if they are ok, do they need any shopping done – a few items collected when you go to the shops yourself.
                        This isn’t to be a nosy neighbour, remember that in wintry conditions, cold can kill and your actions could save someone’s life
