              Re: Christmas Countdown

We made our wreath ourselves this year. Started out with a plain fir wreath, then added holly and ivy which we picked on a walk. We also collected pine cones....in a gale :santa_cheesy:

Then we cut up orange and lemon slices from fruit which was going a bit past it. A nice leathery lemon works very well!

3-4 hrs in the oven on 65 degrees resulted in this:

The we tied on the pine cones using wire and threaded the orange and lemon slices (which smell amazing if you stud them with cloves before cooking)

Final result at a cost of about £7 instead of the £40 I saw a similar wreath for in a shop.

              Happy Christmas xxxx
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

The Black rat (Rattus rattus) is a common (hence the accusation of being Pleb) long-tailed rodent of the genus Rattus (rats) in the subfamily Murinae (murine rodents). The species originated in tropical Asia and spread through the Near East in Roman times (another thing that we ought to thanks the Romans for, besides roads, aqueducts and public toilets) before reaching Europe by the 1st century and spreading with Europeans across the world.

A mutation of the beast now comes black leather clad, riding a motorcycle that looks like a battenbergh cake on wheels.

A skilled predator, totally ruthless with it's prey, but also known to be extremely generous in doling out tickes that can provide points for motorists who want to downsize from mechanically propelled vehicles to bycicles.

It's a dirty job, but someone got to do it!

Hello Christmas people... in the real world, is a ''Tesco Whole Turkey Medium 4.5-5.99kg Serves 11-14'' a decent size for potentially 3 adults, 5 kids ?

                            Re: Christmas Countdown

I do believe the rule of thumb in the real world is 1lb of turkey per person (adult) so yes I think the above would be apt long as it's shared out equally white and dark meat.
If the dark meat is an issue a crown is the best option and I believe Iceland do a decent size one for about £14.
Also Lidl crowns medium £9.79 large £12.89.
My idea would get a small crown and a nice piece of pork bit of choice and both lovely cold for buttys etc xx

Gawd now I have to convert 1lbs to kilos - okay apparently 5 kilos is 11 lbs - so should be plenty I did look at crowns but to be honest it's not the same for the amateur carving skills presentation at the table Thanks honey xxxx

I've got a beef joint for the 'alternative' meat, though now you've said pork I'm thinking of changing .... just thining... CRACKLING .......... have to get a nutroast or something in case the vegan comes as well

Blimey, the stress ! I think this is why we usually go out
