a major clue is the bridge is actually 500 years old and when first constructed had no screws or nails to hold it together.

I thought this honour went to Newton's mathematical bridge on the Cambridge backs?

I lived in Godmanchester in 1974 while working on digs in Huntingdon. Don't remember this bridge, so it obviously made no impression on a young impressionable me :confused2:
