i was in a farm shop today as this weekend is National Trust free weekend for a number of properties. The Eggs and the sausages were home grown but not the cider or the honey or jams which were from overseas(Norfolk, I think ). I saw no fruit and veg but am not really sure that Wimpole Hall Farm is really one that grows vegetables although they do have pigs, goats, shire horses, cattle etc etc. I did purchase Duck eggs as I have not had them before so will be looking forward to eating them next week

Has anyone noticed how eg. carrots are almost completely tasteless from supermarkets these days? I have just come back from a holiday in the middle east and had a chance to 'taste' vegetables again like I used to when I was little. What have the suppliers done to all our veg? I bet they do not contain the nutritional content they should do. All in the name of profit .......

Were they grown out in the fields or inside a poly-tunnel?
