To clarify, my gran was from County Galway so I kinda knew a little bit of the troubles. My gran worked as a nurse and there were times after the bombs went off when Irish nurses were spat at because of the effect that the Provo's bombs caused and that people assumed all Irish people supported that perspective. There was a time when I certainly could understand why they did what they did but Ireland is a better place without bombs and without violence, albeit it does flare up from time to time but thankfully the provo's and the so called "loyalists" remain at peace. It was slightly surprising that Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams commented on the death of Lady T in such a respectful tone. I doubt that would have been the case 20 years ago.....
