The sadism was rather tame, too.

Pahh at Fifty Shades of Grey! Mummy porn LOL

Proper dark twisted stuff, you need to be reading Jerzy Kosinski
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

            Re: Beagles Book Club

I'm bookless and bored atm, read my book

I read Marti Caine's autobiography, that was pretty good, and Shelia Hancock's one reduced me to tears, such love between her and John Thaw!

Something to fall back on by Maureen Lipman is hysterical, how one woman can get in to so many scrapes is beyond me!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I once worked for Sheila Hancock and John Thaw and she is a vile creature, completely deranged. They had two homes knocked together, she lived in one side in Laura Ashley chaos, he on the other in contemporary minimalism.

He was absolutely lovely, very gentle and kind. I can still see him wearing rubber gloves to wash up, carefully removing his glove each time he wanted to drag on his ever present cigarette

Puff- you are one in a million ;someone who fancied BOTH Morten and Pal-this diversification of taste is almost unheard of!
When I was little I signed a letter to my mum stating 'Dear mum, I promise I will never ever go to a disco without you and I will only get married to Morten Harket'..thankfully my mum has not decided to take legal action on that..

Recommending WOOL by Hugh Howey, available here:
                        http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wool-Trilogy...dp_kinw_strp_1

The first chapter or 2 is available for free under the "try it free" on the right.

It's all set in a massive underground silo, in a near dystopian future where the ultimate crime is wanting to go outside, the punishment of which is the granting of that request. I can't really say much more about the story without giving anything away, but the story had me gripped straight away and I finished it in 2 days.

There is prequel available as well, called First/Second/Third shift. I think there's a sequel in the works too.

The story of how the book came about is good as well, as it was entirely self published as an ebook with the spread of it down to word of mouth only.
Now it's been picked up by major publishers for the print version and is now sitting in the bestsellers list.

Why is it any more spam than something you or anyone else recommends? The poster has been a member for a long time albeit they haven't posted much. Perhaps they don't have time? It's reading material, it's published, and who made you the site police to decide what books should or should not be recommended by members of this site? I see no reason to be accusing someone of spamming because they don't read the same books you do!

Nothing to do with what they read - it's the sales info and link. My apologies to Lucifa 42 if it's not.
