    Just an idea.

Let's start of a book club, reccomend reading material to each other, maybe even a kids book for parents to read to little ones!

I am a huge reader, and thought this may be an opportunity to get to know each other a bit better as well.

I am going to reccomend an adult and a child's book if I may.

My adult's book has to be, Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice.
Forget Sparkly boy and wotserface, thisn is the read deal. It is set, for the main part in New Orleans and is gripping from the get go!
The horror is all psychological and its just mind blowing! Any Anne Rice book is worth a moment of anyone's time.

Children's book... Gotta be Wind in the Willows.

Any Kathy Reichs or Patricia Cornwell, and also any Anne McCaffrey, but I read voraciously - about three books a week, both fiction and non-fiction. Traded up to a Kindle a few years ago because I was going to the Galapagos Islands and couldn't work out how to pack enough books in the lugguage allowance! Never thought it would catch on for anything but travel - now I have to work out how you hold a book! Childrens books - Narnia.

I need to think for adult books, there's so many superb ones - there's a battle for space in our house between books and music. For a good childrens' book, for me it's Goodnight Mister Tom. Like many good books, equally enjoyable as an adult as well.

Oh yes - read that in one week when I was 13! I must have been the only girl in the world in love with Aragorn and not David Cassidy!

not quite the only 13 year old.. but not david cassidy for me, more Morten Harket or Pal Wakataar,. then again Jason Orange.. *drools*

Which in a way leads me to my next recommendation! Jason and the Argonauts!

                I LOVED the greek myths!

                  I cant choose one!

Philip Pullman Dark Materials trilogy. They're written for the teen end of the market but are some of the best books I've read. Nothing at all like the dreadful film version that never made it past the first book.

The Time Travellers Wife - beautifully written, will have you in tears
The Power of One - another wonderfully written book, had my dad in tears! Neither are standard tearjerkers though, they just have certain parts that move you.

The Mistborn trilogy for a cracking fantasy read.

The Book Thief, another one that sucks you into the story.

Oh, and the True Blood series. 'Cos it's got a gorgeous Viking, a vampire with a Southern accent and countless other ripped characters. Well I am a girlie

When the kids were younger, duck in the truck and anything from Julia Donaldson. Also percy the Park Keeper and Kipper - lovely gentle srories that made them laugh. And not forgetting Oliver Jeffers' books, with their beautiful illustrations and sweet storylines.

For a bit older, Famous Five etc (I know she was a pretty dreadful writer all told, but I loved Enid Blytons books and so did/do my boys).

Last kids book - Warhorse. I can't watch the film because it just wouldn't stand up to the book!

There are tons of others but this post is starting to look like a book itself. Sorry

I don't get much of a chance to read, but I am finally getting round to reading Fifty Shades of Grey........... (cough)

I LOVED Enid Blyton books when I as a kid, especially Famous Five.

50 shades got so much hype I knew the book before attempting to read it,and didn't bother in the end. I am a very keen reader,my Kindle had to be replaced this Xmas, but I do love a BOOK,,the sheer pleasure of turning pages etc,(altho you can't beat a kindle on the beach or propped up in bed),I drive Rob dotty cos I scan read books the first time then start again and read them properly lol.I'm currently reading about gangs etc.

                            Brilliant idea this Puff!

As an absolute life-enhancer would recommend "Turtle Diary" by Russell Hoban and for children it has to be "Black Beauty" (Anna Sewell).
