Cts are nore frindly to us but not themselfs can pick either one up but when they get near to each other they hiss are keeping apart at opposite corner of room got their toys and are moving about more >our cat still usual self took her into their room but hissinng all round
gonna be a long slog methinks.

You do realise that the cats all get on fine? They are colluding in a game of "let's see how far up the wall we can drive the humans" They graduate to this game when they get too heavy/old to play "lets see how many curtains we can shred today".

i have no doubt they are playing us dont think the are worrying about us like we are worrying ours is expert at getting us worked up she knows what she wants and knows shell get it

all 3 are quiet now 2 sleeping in their room still well apart madam is snuggled up on wifes lap as usual

i have no doubt they are playing us dont think the are worrying about us like we are worrying ours is expert at getting us worked up she knows what she wants and knows shell get it

Hi Waleso1man, keep their litter trays a couple of feet apart and use the same litter in each tray, don't clean out the new cats tray as often then they will start using the main litter tray with the older cat and stop using the other one. They carry the scent of the litter on their paws and your cat will recognise the scent and start accepting the new ones as equals to a point.

Put their food in separate bowls nexst to each other but give them the same food each time, they will start sharing the food and getting used to each other.

Cuddle each cat in turn so their scents are mixed on you, the older cat will get used to the new cats smell on you and get used to it.

When dishing out treats, we use Dreamies(cats go mad for them), give them at the same time but give the older cat a few more than the little ones, it reinforces the older ones authority.

If they fight or hiss at each other tell them in a stern voice to play nicely, get a couple of smallish cardboard boxes for them to play in and eventually they will become friends and only hiss to remind each other of boundaries.

By doing all this my eldest cat(13 at the time and well settled into the boss mode)
soon got used to my new one and now they are inseparable!

I must have the strangest quartet of cats on the planet then..2 litter boxes (cos Inca refuses point blank to poop outside) and they use either (Patch + Inca)....They get fed at the same time but in different parts of the kitchen.
None of them like Dreamies or catnip lol..and when they squabble,as long as it doesn't get too vicious,we leave them to it.They land on whatever lap is available.
I woke up this morning to 4 pairs of eyes looking at me. When Jack got in last night all four of them were snuggled up on my bed with me.
And as I'm trying to type this Patch is walking across me whacking me with his tail!!
It's all trial and error trying to make them accept each other but hopefully your troop will settle soon Wales

I really do not know what they put into dreamies but our cats go absolutely mad for them and remind me when they want them.

I think Ian you hit the nail on the head with your ideas.... I 100% agree with you.

At the monent they are kept separate tried to put them together again hissing and then they ran in 3 directions put the cats tower together our madam is all over it will take it to the others later,I shall refer to them as the Lodgers and the Landlady thats what its like

My brother has 7 cats (rehomes rescues) and he advises this:
open the bedroom door and just leave em to it. While the are growling and your Missus cat is ignoring them, it shouldn't get nasty. Only intervene if it does get nasty, and then flick a little water at them so you don't get hurt in the process. Groom thm and the groom her, telling them they are good cats etetch his is how he integrates his cats

Thanks puff but im not brave enough to let them go together yet ours is like a bloody rotweiler ive got the scars here to prove it will keep em apart longer,the problem is really with the 2 new lodgers they were inseparable always together now they wont go within 6 feet of each other getting more affectionate to us im saving some of the ideas on here for later in the week ,

I always thought our cat would be the problem shes brilliant we think she wants to be mothershe keeps us under control 2 cats will be harder

" pussy cat lodgers have made up and become friends again went to feed them found them cudling together like before both eating and pooing looks like progress, we shall give it a couple of days then try to get all 3 together ours as usual still laid back not bothered

My OH has been away a lot recently and the cats notice it. I wake up with 8 eyes staring at me,,and they slope around doing nothing until he gets home then turn into Kitties from Hell lol..Winston is enormous,,black as coal,,he's like a panther yet is so THICK..he likes being a baby and at the moment is laying on his back across my lap.
