In praise of this site and those on it who give advice i must say i have learnt so much about the subjects covered that i pass somee on to others and tell them to view site or seek legal advice when i hear of there problems its so good to see a community thats here to help and advise and not to judge others, hopefully by highlighting some of the actions of those chasing debts of other actions posted on here people power will change or clarify the rules under which the shysters work it is sickening to read how some like bailiff thugs treat the weak and vulnerable often it seems with the support of the authorities and such actions are rarely condoned keep up the good work and hopefully soon everyone will know what happens when the find themselfs in debt etc.

          Re: Share my thoughts....

When i first came here, I was terrified, felt very stupid and alone.
Within 20 mins I was reassured, calmer and felt I had someone to guide me, and thats the best thing about this place, the fact that no one judges or belittles you.

If I need to know about getting a refund on a dodgy appliance, I can call on and expert, if I need a hug and to be told im alright, there is someone to do that too.
Not only are you legal needs met, your emotional matter too. I would love to do a please dont be frightened thread as I know how scarey debt and trying to sort it can be.

          thanks to you all <3

A bit old for the sixties! Remember the Pipkins as daughter was a fan!
Like most came here for help with one thing and stuck around, learnt a lot and hope to have helped in a very small way.

I was around in the 60's (or so I'm told) - but a 'Pipkin' was simply a b100dy huge can of beer, as I vaguely recall !!!

Indeed - five pints to be exact! You'd be well gone after a four pack of that!

I'm literally 'a child of the 60's' (big birthday in November) I remember the big beer cans,,brother exploded many of them. The Vesta tinned curry, rice one end, curry the other! My sisters ironing their hair in brown paper with the real iron. 2 tone suits. And getting horrendously drunk@8 at my sisters wedding (am youngest of 6)...throwing up down a drain and me Dad carrying me home to sleep it off ,(we lives opposite the church and hall)and for some reason the flipping photographer took a pic of me head down the drain, and Mum found out when the photos were delivered !!!!

LOL - I remember those double-ended tinned curries. I don't think it was Vesta, though. Vesta did the dried meals, and they were b100dy good for the time. They still do a Risotto, but their original Chow Mein got 'improved' out of existence, and so did their Paella. Good student scoff, they were !!!

LOL @ Inca with her head down the drain. If you've never said "Never Again," you've never lived - and wished you hadn't !!!

And....if you do the same again today, Inca - it will be OK. It's all a part of that wacky celebration of our existence here.

LOL - there were indeed some dodgy characters back in those apparently innocent days, Enaid !!! I believe John Ryan managed a couple of them for his 'Captain Pugwash' stories.
