    Re: Grand National 2012 Thread

I had a tip yesterday for Shakalakaboomboom - only 8-y-o though and a 20-1 shot.

I agree with Saphire , I wont be betting on the Grand National either, i have in the past, but knowing more about it and the poor horses that died i would be a hypocrite
I have seen jockeys using the whip since it was banned, and i dont agree with any form of animal cruelty, be it dog racing,
      horses or fox hunting
There is too much animal cruelty going on in the world, and i dont agree with animals in a circus either,
Im sorry if this offends too, just my opinion, and feeling

everyone is entitled to their opinions hun, and those that are offended dont understand democracy!

I only bet on the National, its the only race i do, but thats family tradition. We were all given a pound (50p each way) and told to pick a horse, if any body won then the fish and chip supper was on them!

Personally I would like to wrap the whips round the jockeys heads, you get more out of a horse with vocal encouragement and love, nothing like having a horse galloping and calling Go it boy! you can do it! for sheer adreniline!

It was the only race i bet on too, but having seen some awful videos about animal cruelty, [not horse or dog racing] but much worse, and how even some animals we eat are treated, and cats and dogs skinned alive in China and other foreign places i am soon going to be a vegetarian i think, cant eat chinese meat at all

            Re: Grand National 2012 Thread

Here we go ladies and gentlemen, the one day in the year in which using a pin and a piece of paper might be lucky but what about those money saving tips?

            1) Do not bet on the race and save money(too obvious but had to mention it).
            2) Buy The Sun and have a free £1 bet at Ladbrookes(if anyone knows of other deals for a free bet then please post up).
            3) Bet on the horse EACH WAY which means 2 bets. The first is to win and the second will pay out a quarter of the odds. So say you place a bet on a horse that was 10-1 at 50p and it came in 4th you would take home from your £1 total bet, £1.75.

Good Luck and here are a few tipsters who think they know who will finish in the top 4 places(Paddy Power pay out on 5 places ).

                      Re: Grand National 2012 Thread

I ended up with a 3rd Seabass and 4th Cappa Bleu

Shackershakerboomboom led most of the way sadly and dropped back on last fence otherwise I might have got 3 places.

I also did Swing Bill as an outside favourite if he had won that would have been a nice prifit at 150-1. He did finish though so well done Swing Bill.

I wrote down 5 horses and bet on 3 out of 5 of them.
The five I wrote down were, Seabass, Shakalakaboomboom, Synchronised, Neptune Collonges and Weird Al.

Which one did I not bet on
