THe best urban myth I have heard so far is that if you key in your pin number at an atm the wrong way round, ie 1234 becomes 4321 that the police are instantly alerted that you are in danger somehow. Total and utter nonsense

Actually Nattie. The technology exists for this to happen, it just hasn't been implemented yet (probably due to costs)

I'd imagine they'd stop the use of palindromic pin numbers to ensure it worked properly

It doesn't really matter anyway because the Police response time would be that slow, that you could have chisseled the cash machine from the wall before they got there anyway. msl:
